Seniors to ask the hard questions at WA election forum

Seniors will get the chance to grill their local candidates before the recontested Western Australia Senate election on 5 April.

National Seniors will be holding an election forum in Perth on Monday, 31 March.

Ahead of the election, just under 46 per cent of voters will be aged over 50.

National Seniors chairman David Carvosso said WA’s seniors would get the chance to ask the hard questions of the major parties, as well as hear what their party has to offer the over 50s.

“Western Australian seniors are facing their own issues while mature age unemployment continues to be a big problem with many facing age discrimination while searching for work,’’ he said.

Senators and would-be senators from the Liberal Party of Australia, Australian Labor Party, Australian Greens, The Nationals, Palmer United Party and the Australian Sports Party have been invited.

The forum will be held from 6.30pm to 8.30pm on Monday, 31 March 2014 at the Boulevard North Room, Cambridge Library, 99 The Boulevard, Floreat.
