Become a corporate member of National Seniors Australia
It’s no secret that the number of Australians aged over 50 is increasing rapidly due to long-term increases in life expectancy and declines in birth rates. In 2013 there were 7.5 million people aged 50 and over. By 2031, that figure is expected to increase 46% to 11.3 million people.
Over the coming decades, Australians are being encouraged to stay in the workforce longer in order to overcome labour shortages as large numbers of people approach retirement age and fewer younger people enter the workforce.
The impending skills shortage will generate heightened competition among organisations for skilled employees, making the recruitment and retention of the over 50s a major business issue.
Industry and business must rise to the challenge: to appreciate the importance of older workers, manage the changes, address the changing consumer market and take advantage of the opportunities presented by an ageing population.
National Seniors Australia is the leading not-for-profit and consumer lobby furthering the interests of Australia’s over 50s population. We influence all levels of government on a range of issues - from age discrimination in the workplace to the rising cost of living, health costs, aged care and securing the superannuation guarantee for workers of all ages.
Our corporate member program can provide you with access to valuable knowledge and resources to help your organisation deliver efficient customer service and develop a diverse age-friendly workforce.
Our seminar series provides an essential forum for the latest research concerning productive ageing from around the globe. It will be of interest to business, government, researchers and those advocating on behalf of older people.
