Financial Information just a phone call away
Most people just think of the Age Pension when it comes to Government Income Support (GIS) benefits and retirement. While it is the most common type of GIS, there other types of pensions, allowances and benefits that may be available depending on your circumstances.
Entitlements are determined by assessing your income and assets against certain thresholds which are indexed so even if you may not have been eligible in the past it may be that you are now. Another reason to check your eligibility is that there may be ways to maximise your benefit.
Common questions include:
- How are my various assets such as superannuation assessed?
- How is income assessed?
- What is the maximum age pension rate?
- What happens when one person in a couple hasn’t reached age pension age?
- Can I still work and get a pension?
