Country Feeling Australia was created out of a shared desire to help people find fulfilling employment and live a sustainable and enriching home life. “We believe that everyone deserves creative work that they love and home life that supports them financially, and emotionally that also includes a connection with the community.”

Joanne Kennard and Valerie Pearson have combined their 60+ years of knowledge, experience and take on life, teaching new skills to those seeking to further enrich their lives by launching a series of workshops and seminars teaching self-sufficiency. These workshops include Cheese Making, Sugar-Free Home Preserving, Gut Health and Fermented Foods, Natural Soap Making, Natural Mineral Makeups, and Mindful Meals including thermal cooking.

Travelling around Australia, they enjoy teaching, and sharing their knowledge and stories, and inspiring people to live happier and healthier lives. “There are so many advantages for people and the community when you learn new skills. You get to live a healthier, richer life, save money and tread lightly on the earth.”

Both Joanne and Valerie have travelled extensively and lived in some unusual places around the world. Joanne’s time in Europe and South Africa lead her to work in the areas of sustainable cooking while Valerie spent time in Pennsylvania, USA, learning sustainable farming, cheese making, preserving and the art of fermentation from the local country and Amish community. This experience led her to write her first two books, Home Cheese Making in Australia and Sugar Free Home Preserving.

The workshops are designed to be informative and entertaining. Packed with practical knowhow, Joanne and Valerie will help you learn the skills required to be more self-sufficient in a fun and interactive manner. You don’t need to have any experience in making things yourself. The workshops will show you, step by step, how to get started and be successful and importantly, you get to see, smell and taste. You will also get to ask questions in a stress free, friendly atmosphere as well as meet new people with similar interests.

After the workshop, stick around for a chat. Joanne and Valerie’s passion for what they teach is obvious and they are always willing spend some extra time. Owner / Founder of Velit Group and inventor of EasyOven, author and public speaker, Joanne has created education programs in Design and Technology and the Sciences. She is a partner with UN Global Alliance Clean Cookstoves and is an Australian Expert representing Australia’s interest in the International Organization of Standardization (ISO) Standards for Clean Cookstoves.

Owner / Founder of Green Living Australia, author and public speaker, Valerie is an accomplished author, penning Home Cheese Making in Australia 1st and 2nd Editions, Sugar-Free Home Preserving and is currently writing her third book on Gut Health and Fermented Foods.
