I am female and in my 70s, but I look and feel much younger. I am divorced and live alone, however, I would really love to find a male companion. I am finding it very hard as I do not go out at night and my only outings are bingo and family gatherings. Help please.
It can be difficult to meet people in this age of ‘online dating’, which doesn’t really seem to resonate with us older folks. I personally think it’s better to meet people face-to-face, and this means you need to get out a bit and mingle. First, I would consider taking up a new hobby or activity where you may find likeminded single fellas—think lawn bowls, book clubs, bridge groups, choirs, volunteer organisations … there’s a lot out there to choose from. I recently joined our local bridge club as a complete beginner and am having an absolute ball. Can I also suggest checking out your local National Seniors Australia branch events? Even if you don’t meet someone, you will widen your friendship circle and have fun in the process—it’s a win-win scenario!
