An opportunity has arisen on National Seniors Australia’s National Council. The National Council provides a forum for discussion of matters relevant to National Seniors and its members, that will contribute to the continued development of the organisation.

The Council provides reflections and relevant advice to the Board including:

  • emerging trends and societal attitudes that impact the over 50s
  • the nature and strategic direction of the priorities of National Seniors Australia; and
  • ensuring the structure of the organisation remains relevant to the needs of National Seniors Australia membership and the over 50s generally.

National Council consists of the Board of Directors plus ten other members – five regional representatives and five general representatives. We are seeking a new general representative member.

Appointments are for a term of three (3) years, and you must be a current financial member of National Seniors Australia.

The role of National Council is defined in the constitution of National Seniors Australia. A copy of the constitution is available on the website.

National Council has specific governance responsibilities and provides advice to the Board of Directors on a range of matters relating to National Seniors, including strategy and direction, as well as providing a conduit to issues in the community.
