90-year-old waits over a year for home care


The Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety last week heard of the obstacles older Australians are facing when seeking care to allow them to stay in their own homes. Hello Care Magazine reported Ruth Harris, a 65-year-old retired teacher, pursued home care for her 90 year old mother for over a year, only to discover her level 3 package had been approved the same month she and her mother decided the only option was to move into residential aged care.
