The Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety has published details of the scope and purpose for its three upcoming Melbourne hearings, to be held 9-11 September, 13 September, 7-9 October, 11 October, and 14-18 October 2019.

The Royal Commission moves to Brisbane, Adelaide and Rockhampton in August.
In addition to submissions and hearings, the commission is undertaking a series of community forums.
These forums provide an opportunity for members of the local community to hear about the work of the Royal Commission and to offer ideas on the challenges faced by - and opportunities to improve, aged care.
The Brisbane hearings will inquire into the regulation of aged care, with a focus on:
- regulation of quality and safety in aged care and how aspects of the current regulatory system operate
- different approaches to regulation, including in other sectors
- how regulation and oversight of quality and safety in aged care could be improved.

Brisbane will also host a community forum, with Commissioner, Lynelle Briggs AO in attendance.
