It kicks off in Canberra this Sunday and will be followed by a rollout of similar events around the country.
With regular walking identified as a way of maintaining a healthy mind (as well as body), this weekend’s event is a fun and rewarding way to support a worthy cause.
Each event has different walking tracks and distances to suit a variety of fitness and mobility levels.
People of all ages are encouraged to attend. You can even register your dog, so long as it is socialised and safe in public.
Organisers are encouraging participants to “step up for people living with dementia to say, ‘you’re not alone’”.
The event also encourages kids to wear fancy dress and there are T-shirts and gear for ‘Dementia Warriors’.
So why not get out there and show your support for those with dementia?
Fight the disease by raising funds and raising fun!
