Nucleus Network

National Seniors Australia partners with Nucleus Network to help raise awareness of the important role older Australians play in medical research, and how participation can contribute to safer, more effective medicines for current and future generations.

National Seniors and Nucleus Network share a focus on supporting wellbeing later in life. This partnership highlights the value of including people aged 65 and over in clinical research, where their lived experience helps researchers better understand how medicines work in ageing bodies, how treatments interact with other medications, and how healthcare can be improved for those who rely on it most.

Older Australians are among the most frequent users of medicines, yet remain underrepresented in clinical trials. By increasing participation, research outcomes more accurately reflect real-world use, leading to better data, safer treatments, and improved care for people in Australia and beyond.

About Nucleus Network

Nucleus Network is Australia’s largest early phase clinical trials organisation, working with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies to develop new medicines. The organisation is currently recruiting volunteers aged 65 to 80 for clinical studies in Melbourne and Brisbane. Participants are reimbursed for their time and commitment, and many find taking part offers a sense of purpose alongside the opportunity to contribute to medical progress.
