National Seniors Australia
For 50 years, National Seniors Australia (NSA) has championed the rights, interests and wellbeing of older Australians. We bring together the strength of a national organisation, the connection of local communities and an independent voice that puts older Australians first.

Our story
Experience Matters
Founded in Brisbane in 1976, NSA began with a clear purpose: to give self-funded retirees practical support, trusted information and a collective voice. Today, we are a nationally recognised peak advocacy organisation and registered charity representing the diverse experiences of older Australians, including self-funded retirees, pensioners, part-pensioners, carers and veterans.
Our community
Nationally connected
With a connected community of more than 300,000 people and over 60 branches across Australia, our strength comes from the people we represent. Our branches bring people together to build friendships, share knowledge, volunteer and contribute to their local communities. These connections help keep our advocacy grounded in the everyday experiences of older Australians.
Our impact
A strong national voice
Research
Our in-house research team gives those experiences a powerful platform. By investigating the issues affecting older Australians and listening directly to their perspectives, we build the evidence that informs our advocacy. This research helps us identify emerging challenges, develop practical policy recommendations and make a compelling case for change.
Advocacy
Our independence is central to who we are. Independently funded, we can fearlessly speak up for older Australians and hold decision-makers to account. From retirement income and aged care to the cost of living, access to banking and digital safety, we work to turn research, evidence and community insight into meaningful change.
Together, we can make a difference
Through advocacy, trusted information, practical member benefits and community connection, we help older Australians navigate later life with confidence, while shaping a fairer future for the generations to come.
