The rhythm of the rails

After leaving the city lights behind, it seems like a gallery of picturesque masterpieces is gliding past your train window. From purple tones draping across jagged mountain tops to coppery wheat fields dancing in the breeze, tapestries of vibrant green vineyards, and rolling rust-hued hills dotted with eucalyptus, each scene is mesmerising. And then there are the big skies—streaked with pastel tones in the morning and a riot of fire red at dusk.

Stopping all stations

More than whistle stops, the carefully curated off-train experiences add another dimension to the journey. In Broken Hill, check out the incredible sandstone sculptures at the Living Desert Reserve, or relive scenes from the blockbuster movie The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. Take a deep dive into fossil history at the South Australian Museum in Adelaide, sip wines in the Barossa or head to Hahndorf for gin and cheese.

For lasting memories of the famed Nullarbor Plain, savour every moment at Rawlinna Station, home of around 80,000 sheep roaming across the onemillion-hectare property and for the pièce de resistance, Cook is one of the best ghost towns you’ll ever see.

Luxury on track

With everything from exquisite meals reflecting regional produce matched with fine wines and thought-provoking excursions included in the fare, the only decision you need to make is which ingeniously designed cabin to choose.
