RBA ban surcharges on most debit and credit cards

Following advocacy by National Seniors Australia, the RBA has announced it will remove card surcharges made through the eftpos, Mastercard, and Visa networks from 1 October 2026. Combined with related regulatory changes, this will make payments cheaper and more transparent.
