PCYC brings communities together for Open Day

PCYC’s Open Day, being held on Saturday 11 July, is a chance to access everything in the club for free, test your inner athlete with Gym+Fitness teams, try out Junior Gymnastics activities, play court sports, win prizes, and simply enjoy some family fun.  

There will be loads of free fun for the whole family to enjoy with a range of exciting activities including sausage sizzles, coffee vans, face painting, craft zones, games, jumping castles, balloon twisting, and much more. There will be plenty to see and do for kids and adults alike! 

While PCYC’s clubs are as varied as the communities where they are based, they all share the same mission – building safer, healthier communities through youth development. That’s what this weekend is all about.

PCYC Queensland Acting CEO, Mitch Ryder, said Open Days were always a popular, feel-good event where fun meets purpose.  

“Our Open Days are a great chance for us to share the PCYC story with the wider community,” he said.  

“It’s a fun, colourful family event to round off the school holidays, and it’s also a way to learn about everything we do.  

“So many people have a touchpoint with PCYC, whether that’s through the gym, boxing, Gymnastics or Fun Squad (OSHC) – and this is a chance for everyone to learn about the breadth of our programs, and how we use our funding to support young people.”  

That support comes via programs like Braking The Cycle, Emergency Service Cadets, After Dark, Drop In, Youth Leadership Team, and more.  

As well as enjoying the activities and sausage sizzles, guests at the Open Day will also be able to chat with representatives from youth programs and learn more about what supporting PCYC really means.
