Hear from over 2,000 responses from older people, families, and carers on improving aged care
Sponsored Story

Late last year, the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing asked for your thoughts on the changes to aged care. Over 2,000 responses were recorded from older people, families and carers.
Respondents were most concerned about:
- The cost of aged care
- Access to aged care services
- The amount and quality of care provided.
Respondents were most aware of:
- Changes to in-home aged care, including the new Support at Home program
- Changes to how aged care is funded
- The award wage increase for many aged care workers.
Respondents were less aware of:
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander aged care assessment organisations
- The new registered supporter role
- My Aged Care face-to-face support in Services Australia centres.
We asked respondents if they had engaged with My Aged Care and how. The results show that:
- 68% had engaged with My Aged Care
- Most people had engaged with My Aged Care by phone, followed by online on the website
- The lowest engagement was through My Aged Care face-to-face support services.
Respondents told us they want to receive aged care information via:
- Email or electronic newsletters
- The My Aged Care website
- Aged care providers.
