Palliative care conference registration offer
People in health and aged care sectors, including seniors who are carers, are encouraged to attend.

Early bird registrations are closing soon for the Oceanic Palliative Care Conference, which will be held in Brisbane in September.
People from the connected health and aged-care sectors, including seniors who are carers, are being encouraged to register by 30 June.
Camilla Rowland, the chief executive officer of Palliative Care Australia said the conference, 250PCC, “is second to none as it is one of the few conferences which connects sectors”.
She said, “Whether you’re working in palliative care, or in an adjacent field such as aged care, you and your team will spend three days immersed in new thinking, fresh perspectives and practical ideas that will inspire your everyday work and practice.
“We also think that this conference will be important for seniors who are carers or thinking about and planning for care needs in the future.”
This year’s conference program does not shy away from the big conversations around palliative care and associated fields.
Sessions will include:
Advancing person-centred care through advance care planning: the longer-term impact
Dying (well) at home with dementia – one family’s personal story
Developing workforce capability in rural aged care facilities: The Palliative Care Link Nurse Model
Improving recognition of deterioration and dying in residential aged care
Breaking down sector barriers to improve palliative care for persons with disabilities
Exploring experiences of grief and bereavement following a voluntary assisted death
“Meaningful Moments in Uncertainty”: Music therapy’s role in life and death.
The conference is expected to attract more than 1,400 delegates and 200-plus speakers, providing participants an opportunity to connect with peers, leaders, innovators, and sector experts from across Australia and the Oceanic region.
