Concerts with a Local Flair

Each year, the musical harmonies of NSA Music, the musical arm of the Perth Western Suburbs Branch, fill the air with delightful music. Led by Joseph Lieberfreund, the Branch Treasurer, NSA Music orchestrates concerts that not only entertain members but also extend the joy to the wider community by showcasing the talents of young local musicians, many who are still completing their studies at local conservatoires of music.

Christmas Spectacular Extravaganza

In a festive December event named the "Christmas Spectacular," NSA Music treated around 300 attendees to a musical feast at the Taryn Fiebig Concert Hall, nestled within the picturesque grounds of Churchlands Senior High School. The concert featured the melodic notes of the a2. orchestra, a student-run ensemble creating opportunities for young and emerging musicians. The Winthrop Singers, a student-run choir dedicated to sacred music, both old and new, also graced the stage with their enchanting voices.

Behind the Curtains: The Promoters

The principal promoter behind this musical spectacle was Joseph Lieberfreund, who holds the dual role of Perth Western Suburbs Branch Treasurer and chief promoter of NSA Music. The concert, held on Perth's longest day, provided a warm and delightful evening for the audience. Snacks and refreshments were organised by volunteers from the local National Seniors Western Suburbs branch without whom the event would not have been possible.

Upcoming Musical Tribute in April

Joseph Lieberfreund and NSA Music are now orchestrating their next concert, a "Freedom Concert," slated for April. This event aims to pay homage to past and present servicemen and women, providing a melodic tribute close to Anzac Day. In addition, a further three concerts are being arranged for morning concerts at the Perth Western Suburbs meeting venue and all comers are welcome. Generous Support from the Community

The success of the Christmas Spectacular was made possible through the generous support of the community. Grants from Ray White Dalkeith/Claremont, City of Sterling, Endeavour Homes, and Lotterywest played a pivotal role in ensuring the musical extravaganza could be enjoyed by all.
