Activities


'Steady Steps' seniors exercise class at Centenary Uniting Church hall, Riverhills Rd.

POST COVID19 - Corona restrictions apply. Payment CASH ONLY- (correct money please - NO change given).

Gentle exercise class run by a professional trainer (Ron). Includes some weights, bands, balance exercises, etc. Cost $7. Often followed by coffee and conversation at the local shopping centre.

From December 2020, Classes return to ONE session every Monday 9:15 - 10:15 am

Mah Jong

Session for 1/4/21 cancelled by 3 day COVID lock down.
(Note - on the 3rd, 4th (5th) Thursdays each month, members are now also playing in the back room of Monier Hotel starting at 10:00 am.)

Social game of Mah Jong (we do not score) for interested NSA members. Beginners welcome - we play from "The Mah Jong Players Companion" by P.A.Thompson & B Maloney. The games are followed by lunch in the Mt Ommaney shopping centre food court.

9:00 - 11:59 am on first 2 Thursdays each month at The Hub, Mt Ommaney, Oldfield Room (upstairs)

Evening Dinner

Activity RESUMED October 2020.

Members meet at the selected restaurant each month to try the different venues and cuisines within the Centenary suburbs area or nearby. Each member pays for their own meal selection.

6 pm on the 2nd Wednesday each month - restaurant changes each month - see newsletter

Lunch at the Monier Tavern

Our Monier lunches have now resumed as of 16th July 2020 post COVID19

Members gather for a social lunch at the Monier Tavern (Darra) on the 3rd Thursday each month. On Thursdays, Monier gives a 20% discount on main meals for seniors.

11:30 am for 12:00 pm on 3rd Thursday each month.

Book Club

Activity CANCELLED due to virus restrictions - until restrictions lifted!

Members discuss a book each month.

Third Thursday each month at 'The Hub' - 10:00 - 12:00 AM

Coffee & Conversation

Activity has now resumed (April 2021) following relaxation of Covid restrictions.

Members meet for a social coffee and get together at the Mt Ommaney shopping centre food court.

Last Tuesday each month - Mt Ommaney food court from 10:00 am

May SPEAKER is Carolyn Hamilton – Centenary Historical Society. Tue 18th May the coach trip goes to Redlands museum. Names and payment to Anne this meeting. Our evening dinner Wed 12th May, is at Peppers Lounge (behind Jindalee pool)

Covid permitting, at our April meeting on Tuesday 6th we will be entertained by Noel Stallard – Bush Poet. NOTE that the 3 day lockdown has cancelled MahJong on Thursday 1st, Hopefully it will not interfere with our holiday to Lightening Ridge 11-17 April

At our March meeting (Tue 2/3/21) a Public Trustee rep will talk about Enduring Power of Attorney & Wills. The evening dinner will be at the Thai restaurant in Curragundi Rd, Jindalee. On Tue 16/3/21, there is a coach trip and canal cruise to Paradise Poi

First meeting for 2021. Entertainer - David Cheales. Explorer trip to Redcliffe on Tuesday 16th Feb. There will be a coach trip in March and our long awaited short holiday to Lightening Ridge is proceeding in April. (11th to 17th)

Activities are winding down for Christmas. Steady steps, MahJong, and the monthly Monier lunches will continue in December and January keeping members in contact. MERRY CHRISTMAS to ALL
