Tim Husband grew up in a Jehovah’s Witness family, spending weekends spreading God’s Word. Struggling to fit into this strict community, he found solace in the bush, caring for injured animals. At 14, he was cast out by his father and church elders but was taken in by the owner of a local zoo. In exchange for food and shelter, Tim spent the next decade tending to exotic animals, where he discovered a sense of belonging, and began healing from his painful upbringing. Observing the animals closely, he developed a gift for enriching their lives by redesigning habitats to mimic their natural environments.
