App offers a win-win for Christmas
The EAT | PLAY | SAVE App is the gift that keeps giving. Apart from discounts on your purchases, using it qualifies you for a great prize.
Whether you’re shopping for presents or planning a nice get-together at a restaurant, National Seniors Australia has you covered this Christmas.
Our new EAT | PLAY | SAVE Members Discount App will save you money at hundreds of shops and eateries in your vicinity – and if you download it now, you’ll go into the draw for a fabulous prize.
All you have to do is activate the app and redeem an offer before 13 December to have a chance at winning a $250 voucher from Freedom.
Of course, if you’re not already an NSA member, this is a fantastic time to join to take advantage not just of the app and the competition but all our other benefits too. You can read about those here.
The app, powered by our partnership with Frequent Values by Entertainment, puts a range of discounts from food and beverage options to shopping bargains at your fingertips.
Available for both iPhones and Android devices, the app identifies your location, anywhere in Australia, and directs you to savings at nearby businesses.
You can save on restaurants, cinema tickets, and all kinds of products and services.
Unlike some voucher systems, if you find something you like on the app, the discount resets each day, so you can go back for more.
David Hallesy, who was a “test driver” for the app, said it’s “very easy to download and install”.
“The location/ map feature is very useful,” he said, adding that he can find lunch specials on day trips to other suburbs when he fancies a change of scenery.
“The other feature I like is how you can store your favourites. Mine’s at Baskin Robbins – buy one waffle cone, get one free – around $10 saved. Thank you very much!
“I have shown my friends and neighbours the app and suggested they download it to check out what’s available in their area.”
While the app is freely available through the App Store or Google Play, you must be a National Seniors member to activate the savings.
Membership, which also entitles you to a range of other perks and helps fund our important research advocacy work, costs just $49.
As National Seniors CEO, Chris Grice, told 9News recently, the app certainly adds value to membership.
“With the cost of living, it’s been very challenging for seniors to be able to afford to go and do things, so this is a very exciting initiative,” he said.
“We’re seeing that for those people who are already using the app, they’re getting the cost of membership back, in most cases, through one or two purchases.”
With end-of-year sales coming up and Christmas just around the corner, it’s a good time to start using the app.
