Be inventive with your Christmas gifts
Run out of ideas for presents? Here’s how to take advantage of the sales in a way you may not have thought about.

It’s the age-old question, especially at this time of year: what do you get for the person who has everything?
If you are one of those people who does a lot of Christmas shopping, perhaps you are particularly gifted when it comes to knowing which presents to buy (or make!) for your loved ones.
Or maybe you really don’t have a clue what to get – even for those people closest to you.
And, of course, a lot of older people don’t really want to have more “stuff” around them, so choosing the right thing becomes a challenge.
That could mean giving them nothing at all. But where’s the fun in that? Nobody wants to be a grinch at Christmas time.
Perhaps you could regift a thing you have no use for (and it’s perfectly OK to do that) or you could give them an “IOU” for something special down the track.
If you have a little money to spend, and you want to take advantage of the bargains that are around at this time of the year, you could look at purchasing an experience rather than a physical gift.
Can you picture yourself and a loved one enjoying a stay at a spa, a luxury dining experience, or maybe a trip in a hot-air balloon.
Ambassador Card benefits, which are available to National Seniors Australia (NSA) members, include these and other fun experiences from Red Balloon.
Details about NSA discounts on eCards from big names such as JB Hi-Fi, Coles, Woolworths, Uber, BCF, the Good Guy, and Event Cinemas, can be found here, and if you are interested in Red Ballon, you can claim an extra $30 discount here.
